Hey my Auntie, Like I always called you. Like I used to call you..Like I can't call you any more. My auntie, you always had that special smile, always a word of wisdom, words of encouragement. Hmm my auntie, you knew loads of people but you never knew how many you touched. My auntie, many saw and marveled at your beauty cos you were easy on the eye, but few saw your inner beauty you locked away in your heart, yet managed to shower on those you loved. Many saw you as someone who worked so hard and recognized you as one so industrious, but few really understood why, though they privately asked why, and why. My auntie, you always shone so bright, so radiant and you always glowed, for you had your way of expressing the beauty and glory the Lord showered you with. Yes you did go through testing periods but nature and your nature sheathed your pain. BUT YOU KNOW you've now gone to a peaceful place now where you don't clock watch, you need not catch trains, bus time tables don't matter, you need not open your wallet to maintain another earthly commitment. Yes my auntie you have gone to a place of peace and rest. I'll miss your warm smile Auntie, I'll miss your kind words, your warm hugs..all no more to be felt. No more Auntie to call me A-Daps. No more..but the memories do live on. Good night Auntie. Dapo Oduwole for the Oduwoles UK, US and NIG.
